People often are unaware of the things they do that can hamper their productivity. More often than not they don’t seem to realize things that they have been doing wrong their entire life. We all do things to ourselves that aren’t particularly good for us. At a certain point, you need to hold yourself accountable and stop making the mistakes.

Trying to please everyone
There is an old saying “You can please some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time, but you can’t please all the people all the time.” The only one you would want to please should be yourself. People are different so will be their likes and dislikes. Their mindset will be different. People are bound to disagree and you cannot please everyone. It’s just a fact of life, it’s neither a good thing nor a bad thing. It’s simply a matter of perspective.
The first thing you need to realise is that failure is amazing. When you fail you are given the opportunity to understand what went wrong. People say time changes things but you actually have to change them yourself. Change brings awareness of flaws: what we are and are not good at. Change is good, Don’t ever be afraid of change.
Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change…
Living in the past
There is nothing wrong with it at all, but the point is you have better things to do as well. You can’t start the next chapter if you keep on re-reading the last chapter. Use the past as a reference tool, learn from it but don’t dwell on the past. Recalling the words of Marcel Pagnol:
The reason we have such a hard time being happy is because we see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is and the future less resolved than it has to be.
Putting yourself down
Putting yourself down can be damaging to your self-esteem and self-confidence. You can’t control what others say about you but you can control what you say about yourself. Stop putting yourself down by comparing yourself with others. Be happy with what you have while working for what you want. In case no one told you this, “You are good enough.”
People overthink positive things until they don’t look so positive anymore. I’d say this is one very common and destructive thing. Become a person of action, with this you will have less time to think about whats not working. Say stop to yourself in a situation where you know you cannot think straight. Stop overthinking you are only creating problems that aren’t there.
